Describe your DJ Style
Our DJ style is simple: No cheesy vests or over-talking DJ’s who love the sound of their voice. Instead, we pride ourselves on offering a fresh and contemporary approach with a clean and polished image. Our emcee approach is effective, concise and straight to the point without lots of unnecessary chatter. Our DJs mix music in a seamless fashion for the best dancing experience and provide no barriers on what they will play at your corporate event or wedding. Whether it’s spinning party classics, beat-mixing Top 40/ House/Hip-hop/Country/Mash Up, catering to an ethnic crowd (Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, etc.) or anything in between, we can tailor our style to fit your needs!
Are we able to meet the DJ before booking?
Absolutely. In fact, this is something that we highly recommend. There’s no better way to see if someone is the right DJ for you without an in-person consultation. A DJ’s personality, attitude and appearance reflect your taste and style and should definitely be a part of your decision-making!
Do you provide DJ and Emcee services?
Absolutely. Our DJ’s are not only masters of music but also act as the Master of Ceremonies handling all of your emcee needs. Whether you want mostly music and minimal talk, lots of Emcee interaction or even game hosting, our DJ’s know how to tastefully do both.
Will you talk and make announcements?
Yes, we are not only the DJ, but also the Master of Ceremonies. As seasoned professionals, we clearly and confidently handle all microphone duties in a clear and presentable fashion.
How much of the music do we get to choose?
We’ve had clients that have chosen every song for the entire event and others that have left the music selection completely up to us. Our recommendation is to provide us with a list of 10-20 “must play” songs that you would like to hear at your own event. This will leave plenty of room for your DJ to play to the crowd!
Can we submit a Do-Not-Play list?
Absolutely! Sometimes the do-not-play list is as equally important to the “Must Play” list. There may be specific songs or artists you do not like and wish to be excluded from your event. Any specific songs or general types of music you do not want played should go on your “do not play” list. Rest assured that if a guest requests a song that is on your “do not play” list, it will not be played!
What is Beat Mixing? Why does it matter at my wedding?
Beat mixing/matching is an exciting way of mixing one song into another. Many mobile DJs will let Song A completely fade out, then press play on Song B. The result? Energy and momentum on the dance floor is lost. One of the biggest reasons wedding DJs SHOULD be hired in the first place is to keep your guests entertained and dancing throughout the night. Unfortunately, most wedding DJs either can’t or don’t know how to beat mix, or try to do and it ends up sounding like a mess. Take a listen to our seamless mixes right here!
Can we use our family/friend MC?
Of course!
Can we see you perform at an upcoming event?
There might be instances of public appearances but most of our clients hire us for their private Soirée. We respect our clients’ privacy by not conducting outside business at their special event. We can possibly arrange a reception site visit during the hours of an event set-up to see our lighting and audio equipment in action. No visit will be allowed during the hours of a wedding however. In the meantime, take a listen to some of our mixes!
Do you provide a contract or written agreement?
Absolutely. Our contract is straightforward and written in plain English so that you can understand the terms before signing. It is signed by both parties and offers you a high level of protection and dependability. With the contract you can be assured that there will be no hidden extra charges or kinder surprises at your event. The signed contract and deposit officially reserves your date and an executed copy will be given to you for your records. If you have any questions or concerns about the terms, just ask!
When do we meet with our DJ to discuss our agenda?
We will reach out to you via email to set a final agenda meeting with you and your DJ approximately one month prior to your event.
When does our agenda need to be completed?
Once all of your special songs have been finalized, please submit your agenda to: sam@soireedjs.com no later than 10 days before your Event. If your agenda is not submitted within this time frame, Soirée Entertainment will not be responsible if your specific music requests cannot be met. Minor agenda changes that are not music related can be communicated with your DJ the day of.
Should we bring a copy of our agenda to our agenda meeting?
Yes! To ensure your meeting will be as productive as possible, a hard copy must be brought to the meeting and an email copy must be sent to sam@soireedjs.com. Any changes or suggestions can be made at the time of your agenda meeting.
Do you have ethnic music?
Our music library consists of both popular and traditional music from many cultures including Italian, Spanish, Portuguese and Greek. Any specific music requests must be provided to us, by the client, no later than 10 days before your event.
Will you take care of any cultural requirements we have?
Of course! However, we kindly ask that you specify your requests during your initial consultation with us.
We are not sure which songs to choose for our introductions, garter, bouquet etc. Can we leave that up to the DJ to decide?
Yes, let Soirée Entertainment select what works!
Do we select our own Intro Music?
This is entirely up to you. You can choose your own music or let your Soirée DJ choose appropriate upbeat music for you!
We have certain music that we need you to play at the event. Is that possible?
Yes. Please ensure the music has been submitted to our office at least 10 days prior to your event to test for quality and compatibility. Music is to be provided on USB key saved as mp3, wav or m4a (iTunes format).
